If you see a red flashing light on your blink camera, there are a few different things that can be causing it.
One possible reason is that your Blink outdoor camera is missing the internet connection it needs to work. If that’s the case, you can try reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi network and seeing if that solves the problem.
Battery
If the red flashing light on your blink camera isn’t caused by an internet connection issue, it could be because the battery is about to die. It’s a good idea to replace it before it runs out completely.

To reset the blink camera, find the reset button on the right side of the device, near the USB port. Use a thin object like a paper clip to press down on the button for at least 5 seconds until you see the red light.
This action causes the Sync Module to restart back into setup mode. This is a good solution for situations when the device needs to be moved or connected to a different network. However, it’s also a time-consuming process.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is a technology that uses radio waves to transmit an internet connection to nearby devices. It is found in most homes and businesses.
If your blink camera is flashing red, it could be due to an issue with your internet connection or low battery power. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to solve this problem.
First, check your internet connection and make sure that the router is working properly. It’s also a good idea to reset your modem by unplugging it and plugging it back in after about 30 seconds.
If your blink camera is still flashing red after checking these things, it might be a software issue. If that’s the case, give Blink support a call and they can help you resolve it. They’ll be able to answer any other questions you have as well. They can also send out a new firmware update that will fix the problem.
Sync Module
The Sync Module is the hub of all Blink cameras, doorbells and home security devices. It connects all your cameras to one Wi-Fi network and allows you to hook up a USB flash drive for local storage of video files.
If your Sync Module is displaying a red light, it could be because there’s an issue with your internet connection. If you’re having trouble connecting to your internet, try moving the Sync Module closer to your router or switching it to a different WiFi network.
If that doesn’t work, the Sync Module may need to be factory reset. Resetting the Sync Module will remove all data and custom settings, and it will need to be set up again.
App
Blink cameras can flash red while detecting motion, which is normal. However, if the camera is still blinking even after the motion has stopped, it may be a sign of connectivity issues with your router or batteries that need replacing.
Another possible reason for a flashing red light is that your Blink app isn’t working properly. Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app and that your phone is connected to the internet.
Then, try to re-register your Blink device. You can do this in the app or by contacting customer support.
Alternatively, you can reset your Blink camera by pushing and holding the reset button with a thin object like a paper clip for 30 seconds. This will cause the Sync Module to reboot back into setup mode, which should fix any network or wireless connection issues.
