If you’re having trouble with your blink camera flashing red, there are a few things that you can check to get it working properly again.
The first thing to do is make sure that it’s detecting motion correctly. Look around your house and see if anything is constantly moving in front of the camera.
Low or Dead Batteries
A Blink camera will flash a red light when the batteries are low or dead. This serves as a warning that you need to change the batteries right away or your camera will die sooner than expected.
It is very important to keep up with this regular maintenance for all battery-operated Blink outdoor cameras. Then, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your system is in good working order.
If your blink outdoor camera is still flashing red lights even after you replace the batteries and reset it, it may be time to go ahead and do a hard reset. This will restore the camera to its factory settings, ensuring that it’s as reliable as it can be.
This is a simple process that requires you to press a small button on the back of your Blink camera with a thin object. Once you have done this, the camera will restart and should be working as normal.
Wi-Fi Connection Issues
A blink camera needs to connect to the internet in order to provide its services. This is why it flashes red light during setup, until a network connection has been established.
This will usually go away quickly after the set up is complete, replacing with blinking green and solid blue lights. However, sometimes it may persist.
Typically, this issue can be traced to an internet connection problem, or perhaps low batteries. Either way, it is important to resolve the issue as soon as possible so that your Blink Outdoor Camera can stream live video.
One common solution is to power cycle your Blink Camera. This will reset the device and make sure that it is working properly.
Sync Module Issues
If your Blink camera is flashing red light, it may be because the Sync Module is trying to reconnect to your home Wi-Fi network. This is a common problem and can be fixed easily.
One way to fix a blink camera red light flashing is to reset the Sync Module. This is a quick fix that will return the camera to its factory settings.
Resetting the Sync Module will require pressing and holding the physical reset button on your device for 30 seconds (see the image above). This process causes the Sync Module to reboot into setup mode.
Once you have reset your Sync Module, the camera should be able to connect to your Wi-Fi network. If the camera is still having issues connecting to your Wi-Fi, try moving it closer to the router to improve the signal.
Other Issues
While there are a few common issues that can cause blink camera red light flashing, sometimes it happens because of something else. For example, if you have set up notifications for motion detection, the LED might keep flashing until you confirm and view the notification.
If this is the case, you can easily solve it by resetting the camera. Simply take a paperclip or a needle and push the reset button on the bottom of the device.

One of the most common causes for blink camera red light flashing is bad internet connections. Whenever your Blink camera attempts to connect to the internet, it usually flickers its red LED signal four or five times.
