Several times a day, you might notice your blink camera blinks red 3 times. That’s a sign something’s wrong, and there are a few ways to fix it.
The first step is to find the reset button on the right side of the blink camera, near the USB port. Press and hold it with a thin item (like a paper clip) for up to 30 seconds. This will cause the Sync Module to reboot back into setup mode.
Battery Replacement
If your blink camera is flashing red 3 times, it could be an indicator of a problem with the battery. Alternatively, the device may be losing its connection to the internet.
If the issue is connected to the batteries, the first thing you need to do is replace them. This is a simple process that requires you to remove the back cover and replace the battery compartment on top.
After removing the battery compartment, you need to insert a fresh pair of Lithium non-rechargeable AA batteries. Make sure to use Energizer or Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAs for the best performance.
Lastly, you need to reset the Blink camera to its factory default settings. To do so, locate the reset button on the right side of the device.
Sync Module
The Blink Sync Module is a little device that manages multiple devices, like blink cameras and doorbells, on your network. It also relays commands and network details to those devices.
The Sync Module is designed to add two years of battery life to your cameras, support up to 10 Blink camera systems at once, and allow them to connect to the internet. Its main purpose is to make your life easier, but it also offers some functionality that is not available in most other security camera systems.
Specifically, the Sync Module 2 connects up to 10 Blink video devices to a USB flash drive for local storage, meaning you can store motion-triggered alerts on your computer or mobile device without paying for Blink’s cloud storage service.
The Sync Module comes with a USB adapter, micro USB cable, and wall DC power supply. It’s a simple but useful addition to any Blink system.
Internet Connection
The internet has become the glue that holds our modern world together. It allows us to communicate, shop, play games, and more without leaving the house. It also gives us the opportunity to see what our kids are up to while we’re not there and to catch up with friends and family on the other side of the planet. A nifty little device called the “Modem” makes your connection possible by translating the analog signal from your home telephone line into digital data that’s sent to your computer. There are a number of ways to make this happen, and it’s often a good idea to ask your service provider what kind of internet they offer before you make any purchasing decisions.
We found that there are several cool things that the Modem can do, and we were pleasantly surprised at how much it has changed our lives for the better. For starters, it’s a very simple device to plug in and play. It comes in a variety of colours to match your decor, and it will last for years to come. You can even order replacement modules to keep your Modem running in tip top shape.
Hard Reset
Blink cameras are designed to flash red lights when they have a problem. This is typically an indication of a loss of network connection or battery issues.
There are a number of ways to resolve this issue, including troubleshooting and replacement of batteries. But if none of these solutions work, you may need to reset the camera to its factory settings.
You can use a clip or other thin item to push and hold the reset button on the right side, near the USB port. This causes the Sync Module to reboot into setup mode.
This process will wipe all data from the device, and restore it to its factory defaults. It is used for a variety of reasons, including when a device cannot be fixed or when you want to delete all your personal data before selling it.
